Vacancies for Scout Leaders
Our Scout group seeks suitable Youth Program
Leaders and adult non uniform support members to support your
local Scout group. Vacancies exist in all five sections,
providing adult leadership training for youth members 6 to 18
years of age. The Scouting experience is rewarding, widening
interpersonal skills whilst working with other dedicated members
of Scouts Australia.
Each section meets 1 night per week during school terms, and
there are also some weekend hikes or camping trips or special
activities like abseiling, one or two weekends per year.
As a leader you will undertake basic and advance training in
working with young people, including learning the basics of
Scouting, leadership, safety issues, and program planning. Scouts
Australia is a registered training organization. Depending on
what leadership training you undertake, you could be awarded a
nationally recognised Certificate or Diploma in leadership.
Training generally takes place on weekends. Registration,
training costs are covered by the Group.
All youth program leaders are required to have or be able to
obtain a suitability card from the Commission of Children &
Young people, but is arranged by Scouts Australia.
