Congratulations to all the members who turned out for the Townsville 100 years Heroes Parade. What a wonderful site to see 100 Australian flags being carried by 100 members in uniform. If you have any photos of the parade, send them to me and I'll put them on this page. I didn't take any photos as I was marching in the parade. I did see a lot of parents clicking away with their cameras.
It was a great surprise for me, as we were passing the saluting dais, Peter Lindsay MP grabbed my hand and yelled out "well done Geoff, shake the hand of the Prime Minister" and I shook the hand of John Howard PM, with my left hand, which is correct for Scouts but awkward for politicians.
